Our Philosophy and Values
Approved June 2005

Credit unions were created as not-for-profit financial cooperatives to encourage savings and provide a source of credit for individuals of limited and moderate means. Credit unions embrace the principle of “not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” The philosophy of “people helping people” is the cornerstone of our movement.

Carolina Collegiate Federal Credit Union is an organization built on the traditional values of commitment to service, respect for the individual and fiscal responsibility.

The Member-owners have democratic control (one Member, one vote) of our credit union and elect from their midst a volunteer Board of Directors which appoints the Supervisory Committee.

We hold ourselves to the highest standard of integrity, professional ethics, cooperation and team spirit.

Our day-to-day decisions are based on what is in the best interest of our Members. We place the welfare of our Members above all other priorities. Each Member is valued.

We recognize the importance of a positive and supportive environment for our staff and the equitable treatment of all Members, as well as maintaining a financially strong and stable organization.

Our desire for excellence in quality and service leads us to continuous self-evaluation and improvement.

Our willingness to adapt to our changing environment, whether through new services, additional staff, or technical services, highlights our commitment to our Members.
