New GPS-enabled Downloads of Database Give Cardholders Mobile Access to CO-OP Network’s 30,000 Surcharge-Free ATMs
When it comes to finding the nearest surcharge-free ATM, credit union member cardholders who belong to the CO-OP Network can now let their fingers do the talking---and walking and driving.
CO-OP Financial Services, the largest credit union service organization and parent company of CO-OP Network, recently launched a new ATM locator enhancement that gives its member cardholders the ability to quickly find one of 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs using only their GPS device.
Download 30,000 ATMs into your GPS device
Since its launch in June, almost 1,000 cardholder members have used the GPS-enabled service that can download the entire CO-OP Network database of 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs directly into their Garmin, Tom Tom or other personal GPS navigation device. Members receive turn-by-turn directions to the nearest CO-OP Network ATM—no matter where they are in the U.S., at no cost.

Another popular ATM locator feature is “MYCOOP,” the new mobile text messaging service in which cardholders can text their location – address, intersection or zip code – to 692667 (MYCOOP) from any mobile phone. In less than a minute, the service replies with the CO-OP Network surcharge-free ATMs nearest the cardholder’s location. To find additional locations, the user simply replies with MORE. Since its launch in May, over 25,000 text messages have been sent and received by the 13,000 cardholders who used the service.
“When every dollar, every gallon of gas counts, our cardholders will save precious time and money by being able to download the location of the nearest ATM into their GPS navigation device,” said Stan Hollen, President/CEO of CO-OP Financial Services. “Along with text messaging, these new services offer a valuable combination of technology and convenience for our cardholders that is unmatched by any other credit union network, and even some of the largest banks.”
In addition to the new text messaging and GPS downloads services, cardholders can still find a CO-OP Network surcharge-free ATM through the company’s online locator (www.co-opfs.org) and voice locator (888-SITE-COOP).
